The company offers clinical care to babies born prematurely or with complications within specific units at hospitals, primarily NICUs, through its network of affiliated neonatal physician subspecialists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and other pediatric clinicians; and inpatient and office-based clinical care to expectant mothers and unborn babies through its affiliated maternal-fetal medicine subspecialists, obstetricians and other clinicians, maternal-fetal medicine nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, sonographers, and genetic counselors. It also provides other pediatric subspecialty care, including pediatric intensivists, pediatric hospitalists, and pediatric surgeons; support services in other areas of hospitals comprising pediatric emergency room, labor and delivery area, and nursery and pediatric departments; a newborn hearing screening program. The company was formerly known as MEDNAX, Inc. and changed its name to Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. in July 2022. Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. was founded in 1979 and is based in Sunrise, Florida.
