About HalalStockGuide
Our Mission
HalalStockGuide exists for one reason: to make halal investing accessible to every Muslim around the world. With nearly 2 billion Muslims globally and Islamic finance assets surpassing $4.5 trillion, there is a massive and growing need for reliable, transparent, and free Shariah compliance data for publicly traded stocks.
Too often, Muslim investors face a frustrating choice: pay for expensive screening services, rely on incomplete information, or simply avoid investing altogether. We believe none of those options are acceptable. Every Muslim deserves the ability to make informed, faith-aligned investment decisions without barriers.
What We Do
We screen over 7,500 stocks from more than 60 exchanges worldwide against five of the most widely recognized Shariah screening standards. Our platform analyzes company financial statements, identifies haram business activities, and calculates key financial ratios to determine whether a stock meets the compliance thresholds set by leading Islamic finance bodies.
Each stock page on our site provides a clear, detailed breakdown of how that company performs against each standard, including its debt-to-market-cap ratio, cash and interest-bearing securities ratio, receivables ratio, and impermissible income ratio. We show the actual numbers, the thresholds, and the pass/fail result so you can see exactly how each determination was made.
The 5 Standards We Screen Against
Different scholars and institutions have developed their own screening methodologies. Rather than picking one and declaring it the only correct approach, we screen every stock against all five major standards so that you can follow the one your scholar or institution recommends.
Our Approach
We are data-driven and fully transparent. Our screening data comes from public financial statements sourced through yfinance and SEC EDGAR filings. Our screening logic, thresholds, and methodology are openly documented on our Methodology page. We do not use black-box algorithms or proprietary models that hide their reasoning.
We update our financial data regularly to reflect the latest quarterly reports and market conditions. Our goal is to give you the most accurate, up-to-date compliance picture possible, completely free of charge.
Why It Matters
Islamic finance is one of the fastest-growing sectors in global finance. Muslims in every country are looking for ways to grow their wealth in a way that aligns with their faith. By providing free, transparent, and comprehensive Shariah screening data, we hope to empower millions of investors to participate in the stock market with confidence and peace of mind.
